1. CREATE A HEALTHY EATING INSPIRATION BOARD.
This board could contain things like this to motivate you:
- a list of easy, healthy meals you like to make on repeat
- a chart of healthy food substitutions
- healthy recipes you want to try
- beautiful food photos
- table-setting ideas you like
There are no limits! Put the moodboard in the kitchen or nearby to remind you to work on that goal. A recipe board on Pinterest is a great idea, too, but there is something about a physical board that you walk by often that can be a great trigger to not lose sight of the big goal! Here are some moodboard tips!
2. SET REALISTIC GOALS.
Healthy eating should not feel like a chore so take a moment and check-in with yourself before getting started. Ensure your goals are realistic for what is going on in your life right now. Try to pinpoint why you’re struggling to maintain your healthy eating goals, and then determine the actions you can take to eliminate your resistance. For example, have your groceries delivered if time is an issue or get some vegetables pre-chopped. Always check in for roadblocks so that they don’t get in the way of your success.
3. FOCUS ON ONE OR TWO AT A TIME.
Write down your goals and place the card somewhere you will see them every day. Break it down and only focus on one or two changes that you’re confident you can do. Give yourself plenty of time to get used to the new changes and go from there.
4. DO IT TOGETHER!
Talk to your family and friends and seek others that want to get involved, too. Make a pact to cook together and catch up over the prep and if you live alone, cook the same meal with a friend over a Zoom call. By reframing dinner as a shared experience, you can turn a chore into a way to spend time with those you love (another huge aspect of living a healthy lifestyle).

6. SURROUND YOURSELF WITH INSPIRING SOURCES.
